VIVID AS - Norway

Our objective has been to develop an ID tag which is cheap and simple to apply and which has good remote readout capabilities, especially in liquids.The development has resulted in passive tags which are based on acoustic resonances. The resonators on a tag consist of thin, nominally 500 nm thick silicon nitride membranes suspended over separate evacuated cavities, made by bulk silicon micromachining. This production technology is well suited for accurate high volume production at low cost.The ID system is patented.
